FINAL

This page is part of my Central Lighting modification where I used Light My Bricks (LMB) lighting components to light and power the entire model from a single power source.

DISCLAIMER: If you choose to attempt these modifications, you assume all risks thereof. I just wanted to share my experiences here. Neither Fanhome/DeAgostini, nor myself, are responsible for any damages that may occur.

Final Connections

As we make the final Body to Legs connection of our Iron Man in Issue 98, we need to make the final wiring connections.

Step 1

When bringing the Body and Legs assemblies together, connect the exposed plugs of each to a new 6-Port Expansion Board, as shown:

Step 2

Attach a new Connecting Cable – 50cm to this Expansion Board, as shown:

Step 3

I could not find a clean way to hide this Expansion Board inside the model at the Body/Leg connection, so these wires were routed around the back of the model:

Step 4

Finally, the free end of this 50cm Cable can be run down the Support Rod of the display base and connected via a new 2-port Expansion Board to a USB Power Cable (or other LightMyBricks power source), as shown:

That’s it! Once powered up, all lights in the hands, feet, helmet, and Arc Reactor work as expected and look fantastic!

The Other Posable Positions

I chose to display my model in position A as seen above, but the other positions will be wired in much the same way.
