This page is part of my Premium Base series of articles.
In the eighth stage of the Premium Base assembly, we will attach the final Outer Frame and Light Frame.
These stages will be the nearly the same as the previous section.
Materials: The Outer Frame 6 is metal and the Light Panel 6 is plastic.
Mark III Premium Base (8)
Stage 1 – Fitting the Light Panel
Fit the Light Panel into the Outer Frame, aligning the four mounting tabs to their respective posts.
The raised center of the Light Frame sits down into the opening of the Outer Panel, as shown:
Secure the Light Panel to the Outer Frame with four (4) HM screws.
These screws should not be over-tightened as they may crack the plastic of the Light Panel. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Stage 2 – Fitting the Final Outer Segment
Retrieve your Top Cover assembly from the previous stage and turn it upside down. Fit this Outer Frame assembly to this edge location of the Top Cover and align the screw holes.
This Outer Frame should be fitted to the right of the previous Frame, as shown:
In order to fit this last Outer Frame assembly, I needed to loosen/remove these two nearby screws:
Secure the Outer Frame to the Top Cover with seven (7) IM screws.
If you loosened/removed the two nearby screws I mentioned earlier, they can now be re-installed:
We finally finished the ring section of our Premium Base! If I haven’t said it before, this thing is huge. I will measure it once we add the block details around the edge.
