Build
Abdomen (3)
Stage 1 – Assembly of the Connector
Step 1
Start passing the Pin Shaft through the hole in this tab of the Waist Connector Base, stopping with the end in the gap as shown:
Slide the Torsion Spring over the end of the Pin Shaft as shown and fit the end of Spring into this hole (arrow) of the Waist Connector Base:
Step 2
Fit the Connector Lever in between the tabs of the Waist Connector Base and slide the free end of the Spring into this hole, as shown:
Align the large hole of the Connector Lever to the Pin Shaft and press the Pin Shaft all the way through the Lever and into the opposite tab of the Waist Connector Base, as shown.
Once fitted, this Pin Shaft should be flush on both sides of the Connector Base:
Stage 2 – Assembly of the Connector in the Inner Structure
Step 1
Retrieve your Inner Abdominal Structure from Issue 90. Fit the Connector Base assembly into place, aligning the screw holes as shown:
Secure the Connector Base to the Abdominal Structure with four (4) AP screws:
Step 2
Retrieve your Inner Abdominal Plate assembly from Issue 90. Slide the Inner Abdominal Structure into the slot of the Plate, as shown:
Secure the Structure to the Plate with two (2) IM screws:
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Stage 3 – Joining the Abdomen
Step 1
Retrieve your Lower Back Plate assembly from the previous issue. Fit this Back Plate to the back of the Abdominal Plate, as shown:
Begin securing the Lower Back Plate into place with two (2) IM screws:
Finish securing the Lower Back Plate into place from the inside with two (2) KP screws:
Thoughts
I do enjoy when separate sections of our model come together! We now have most of our abdomen built and will attach it to the chest, along with the arms and helmet in the next issue.
