Stage 1 – Assembly of the Lower Right Flap

Step 1

Fit the Upper Right Flap onto the Lower Right Flap, aligning the eyelets as shown:

Step 2

Along the pre-scored lines, carefully bend the eyelets of the Lower Right Brake Fin to be upright 90°, as shown.

I recommend using a large set of flat tip pliers for this, such as Duck Bill Pliers:

Fit this Brake Fin over the Right Flap assembly, as shown:

Step 3

Fit the tabs of the Rear Right Shoulder Plate over the eyelets of the Flaps, capturing the Brake Fin eyelets in between as shown:

Align all of the eyelet holes and secure these parts together with two (2) SP screw, one on each side:

Step 4

Check the operation of the Flaps and Brake Fin by rotating them into various positions:

Thoughts

This is the first of two rear aerodynamic brakes we will soon install to the Back Armor Plate.
