Return to the BUILD
“Having assembled the internal mechanisms of the right leg, it is now time to fit the rear lower leg armor to the Mark III armor.”
This issue will be very similar to the work we we did on the Left Leg back in Issue 42.

Build
The Right Leg (5)
Stage 1 – Assembly of the Heel
Step 1
Fit the T-post of the Heel into this matching groove inside the Rear Lower Leg Armor, as shown:
Step 2
Fit the Heel Support Plate over the T-post, then secure the Heel Support Plate into place with two (2) EM screws.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
When installed correctly, this Heel should be able to open and close smoothly:
Stage 2 – Fixing the Rear Lower Leg Armor
Steps 1-2
Retrieve your Right Leg assembly from the previous issue. Slide the two rounded tabs of the Rear Lower Leg Armor assembly over the matching screw holes on either side of the Inner Support Plate, as shown.
This is a tight fit, so take your time to gently squeeze the tabs into place:
Step 3
Slide a Friction Disc over the ends of two (2) EM screws:
Secure each side of the Rear Lower Leg Armor to the Support Plate with those two (2) EM screws/discs, one on each side.
The tighter these screws are, the harder it will be to open/close the Rear Lower Leg Armor:
Thoughts
The Rear Lower Leg Armor on this right leg was an even tighter fit than on the Left Leg. Still, we were able to make it work.
