ISSUE 47

Return to the BUILD

“With this issue, you will complete the right foot with the toe, upper and sole. You will proceed to the assembly of the right leg in future issues.”

This issue will be very similar to the work we we did on the Left Foot back in Issue 2.

Build

The Right Foot (3)

NOTE: You may notice extra wiring in the pictures below. These are part of my custom Central Lighting mod.

Stage 1 – Fitting the Toe
Step 1

Retrieve your Right Foot assembly from the previous issue. Fit the two Joints into these circular openings on both sides of the foot and hold them in place:

Slide the Toe over the Joints from the front of the Right Foot, aligning the screw holes as shown:

Secure both sides of the Toe to the Right Foot with two (2) CM screws, one on each side.

Once these screws are installed, your Toe should be able to pivot up and down. If your Toe does not pivot, or takes a lot of effort, you may need to loosen the screws slightly. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 2

Then, press the two pins of each Screw Cover into the matching holes around each screw on both sides of the Toe:

Stage 1 – Fitting the Sole
Step 1

Fit the Sole into the bottom of the Toe, as shown.

Make sure no wiring is pinched while installing this Sole:

Secure the Sole to the Toe with two (2) EM screws:

Stage 3 – Battery Cover and Positioning the Upper
Step 1

Slide the (supplied) CR1025 battery into the battery compartment of the LED Assembly, matching the polarity as shown:

It may be helpful to use a pair of tweezers to compress the spring and make installing this battery easier:

Step 2

Retrieve your Battery Cover from Issue 45, fit it into place over the opening as shown, and secure it closed with one (1) EP screw:

Step 3

Test the lighting by pressing on the exposed switch of the LED Assembly to turn the repulsor light on and off:

Step 4

Place the Upper into place on top of the Right Foot. It should hold itself in place with magnets:
