ISSUE 45

Return to the BUILD

“The assembly of the right foot begins here, following the same process as for the left foot, which was assembled in Issue 2. It is the first step in the assembly of the right leg.”

This issue will be very similar to the work we we did on the Left Foot back in Issue 2.

Build

The Right Foot (1)

Stage 1 – Articulation and Hinge
Steps 1-2

Fit the Ankle Joint into the Right Foot from below. The larger diameter hole of the Ankle Joint should face the inside of the Right Foot, as shown:

Step 3

From the inside of the Right Foot, fit the Ankle Joint Cover over the Ankle Joint as shown, and secure it down with four (4) EM screws.

This part will support the leg and allow the ankle to rotate. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Stage 2 – Switch and LED
Steps 1-2

Fit the switch of the LED Assembly into this square compartment of the Right Foot, as shown:

Step 3

Fit the battery box of the LED Assembly to this location of the Right Foot as shown, and secure it down with one (1) AM screw.

There is a small tab on this LED Assembly (arrow below) that keeps the switch from falling out:

Thoughts

We have finally started on the last appendage of our Iron Man model – the Right Foot. We will build up our entire Right Leg from this assembly. Keep the Battery Cover safely nearby as it will be needed in the next issue.
