Build
The Left Ankle Joint
Stage 1 – Ankle Assembly
Step 1
Retrieve your Left Foot assembly from Issue 2 and lift off the Upper piece that is held in place by the magnet:
Fit the two Ankle Washers on either side of the Lower Left Leg.
The notches in the Ankle Washers should be aligned to the notch in the Lower Left Leg, as shown:
Steps 2-4
While holding these Ankle Washers in place, slide the rounded end of this Lower Left Leg down into the bracket of the Ankle Joint.
The angled chunk of the Lower Left Leg should be facing forward, as shown:
Step 5
Slide the keyed post of the Ankle Joint (35C in this issue) through the outside of the Ankle Joint on the Left Foot to align these parts together, as shown:
Stage 2 – Fixing the Left Ankle
Step 1
Fit the Ankle Lock Washer on the opposite side of the Left Foot Ankle Joint, aligning the notch as shown:
Step 2
Secure the Left Ankle assembly together with one (1) MP screw from the outer side of the Foot:
Tighten this screw so the joint movement is quite stiff, but still allows you to rotate Lower Left Leg:
Step 3
Fit the Upper plate back into place over the magnet of the Left Foot:
Thoughts
I am impressed that this ankle joint has both forward/back movement as well as a bit of side to side. It wasn’t easy to keep the Ankle Washers in place while completing this issue, but we made it through!

First thanks for a great build website, especially the lighting mod for inspiration! First time I’m experimenting with the Lego lights and was able fish it through the leg.
If the ankle joint isn’t very stiff, do you have any suggestions? Mine is somewhat loose and easily moves with just partial weight of the incomplete leg. The plastic disc doesn’t seem to hold the screw. Tac didn’t seem to work.
Thanks.
Thank you! As for your ankle, it is possible the screw stripped the plastic of the disc and it won’t tighten any more. Do you have a small bolt and nut you can use there instead?
It was stripped. Luckily I was accidentally sent a duplicate shipment and the second one works. Need to be careful with the other leg!
