BUILD

The Fanhome 1:3 scale Iron Man Mark III Armor partwork build-up can be purchased in two ways: either at your local newsagent or via a subscription service. This is my first Fanhome build, and I am in the USA, so I opted for the subscription.

Over the span of more than two years, Fanhome delivers 100 ‘issues’ (120 with the optional ‘battle damage’ extension) that contain a few parts of the model along with a magazine explaining the build instructions, images, and information about the Marvel universe. These are weekly issues, but after the introductory shipment of the first two, they are delivered in groups of four issues about every four weeks. The initial release was only deliverable to the UK and Ireland via Fanhome UK, but in June 2021 Fanhome US opened so I am receiving my build from them.

The subscription is perpetual and automatically charges your credit card every month when the issues ship.  If necessary, however, the subscription can be suspended or cancelled at any time. This subscription version includes some FREE gifts along the way, which I will include below.

I created this site to share my own build progress and hopefully offer hints and tips I discovered along the way. It is not intended to be a step-by-step replacement for the instructions, so please read the magazines carefully! Lastly, I decided a while ago that I will be building this model as supplied, but I may paint a few things to be more accurate.

The long delay between build sessions here was due to waiting on Issues 39-42. They kept sending the later issues, so I was able to catch up quick.

While the first 100 issues complete our 1:3 scale Iron Man Mark III Armor partwork, there are twenty additional issues that further allow us to replace parts to add ‘battle damage’ to the build. These issues are optional, at extra cost, and will be shipped automatically unless you inform Fanhome not to.
